What’s the story behind ibb & obb?

In 2007 Richard Boeser graduated at the faculty of Industrial Design at Delft University of Technology. The focus of the graduation project was on innovation in game design. The research went alongside the development of a playable prototype. The result is ibb & obb.

First exposure

Thanks to the good people at Indiecade, ibb & obb was showcased at 2008′s E3 in Los Angeles. This brought some attention to the game and some serious publisher interest. From that point on Richard Boeser and Roland IJzermans decided to work further on the project together.

What’s happening now?

The game is currently in production. We’re working together with Codeglue and got Kettel working on the music.

When can we expect a release?

Second quarter 2012.

Will this be on i-phone?

Probably not. Right now we’re developing for PSN and PC.

Why the funny names?

ibb and obb are named after two characters in Jasper Fforde’s “The Well of Lost Plots”. For some strange reason the names just seemed to fit perfectly. Mr Fforde’s books are personal favorites of us and we recommend that you check them out.
